About Us

“Friends have all things in common.”
Plato, Dialogue, Phaedrus

The Staten Island Chamber Music Players has been a trusted friend and partner in the community since 1974.  For over three decades, we have been dedicated to our mission of promoting public awareness and appreciation of classical and jazz music through live performances for the general public, with a special focus on school children, senior citizens, and the mentally and physically disabled.  We share a true commitment to inspired presentations that are engaging and relevant to today’s audiences.

Camaraderie is this season’s celebrated theme, and like good friendships, music is fun, eminently enjoyable, and emotionally profound.  The common thread that brings us all together is our love of great music.  The work is in the hearts and spirit of The Chamber Players’ musicians who have been performing together since the beginning:

  • Nearly 60 concerts are scheduled annually
  • The SICMP serves over 14,000 people a year
  • Since 1976, Project Uplift has served over 100,000 special needs and culturally disadvantaged Staten Island residents
  • 25-30 admission-free concerts are scheduled each season for schools, nursing homes, hospitals and venues where access to uplifting experiences are severely limited

Through the continuing gifts from people of all means, The Staten Island Chamber Music Players is able to maintain artistic excellence and community service!  With sincere thanks to our friends joining us in our 34th Season of Camaraderie.
